| When
submitting work for publication, the first step of the process is to
send a pitch or query letter. This letter should
contain a summary of your work, information about yourself as a
writer, and your contact information (including your email address).
See Sarah Jane's
essay
on The Perfect Pitch for crafting the perfect pitch letter.
What are we looking for? The most
important thing in the process of finding an agent is connecting with
someone who is a good match for your work. We receive hundreds
of letters for books in genres we don't represent. Please review the "About Us" section and take a look
at our current
client list to get an idea of the type of work we
represent.
Once you have your pitch letter, send
it with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the following address:
Sarah Jane Freymann Literary Agency 59
West 71st Street
Suite 9B
New York, NY 10023
If you absolutely must
submit via email, send your inquiry to
Submissions@SarahJaneFreymann.com.
Please, no attachments.
When we've had a chance to
review your inquiry, you will either receive a
request to see a proposal and/or sample pages, or a rejection letter. It's not unusual for
this first step in the process to take a few weeks. Please be
patient.
Please note:
- If you are an author from overseas,
please be sure to include your e-mail address, as we do not return
international material.
- If you do not include a
self-addressed, stamped envelope or an email address, we will not
be able to respond.
